What is Addiction & Alcohol Use Counseling?

Addiction rarely exists on its own. It is often connected to stress, trauma, relationship challenges, or emotional pain that has gone unaddressed. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, including work in hospital emergency departments, Jason Forbes has supported people at every stage of recovery, from recognizing there is a problem to building lasting, positive change. His role is not to judge but to help you understand the bigger picture, develop healthier coping strategies, and create a personalized plan that fits your life.

Who is This Service For?

This service is designed for adults who are struggling with alcohol use, substance misuse, or addictive behaviors that are affecting their health, relationships, work, or overall well-being. You may benefit from this service if you:

Feel your drinking or substance use has become hard to control
Use substances to cope with stress, anxiety, or difficult emotions
Have noticed strain in relationships, work, or health because of use
Have tried to cut back or stop before, without lasting success
Are supporting a partner or family member through recovery and need guidance
Want a confidential space to explore your relationship with substances, without judgment

My Therapy Approaches

I draw on a combination of proven methods, tailored to you:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identify the thought patterns and triggers that drive substance use, and build healthier responses in their place.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative approach that helps you explore your own reasons for change, at your own pace, without pressure or judgment.

Relapse Prevention Planning

Practical strategies for recognizing early warning signs and navigating high-risk situations before they become setbacks.

Co-Occurring Care

Since substance use is often connected to anxiety, depression, or trauma, we address what’s underneath it, not just the behavior itself.

Start Your Journey

First session is completely free. No commitment required.

“I came in barely functioning. After 8 sessions of CBT, I can finally walk into a meeting without my heart racing.”
